LeConte Landing, built in 1970 and originally named Bear's Eye View, is an authentic chalet, situated in Chalet Village, and named for the wonderful and ever changing view of Mt.
LeConte.
LeConte Landing was fully renovated in 2004 to capture the beauty of what was most likely in its original state, natural wood. The baby blue ceilings and walls were gutted and replaced with natural pine. Tile and hardwood floors replace
the teal carpeting that covered the main level stairway and catwalk, the linoleum that covered the kitchen and baths, and the carpeting in the entire lower level. A full bath replaces the half bath on the upper level and the entire bath on the lower level rearranged to
incorporate the Jacuzzi, which once sat in the corner of the game room. This room was originally a bedroom and the now lower level bedroom was the original game room. The once covered windows on the lower level were opened and extended to capture the beautiful view, and deck
stairs were added at the side. Natural pine now covers the once pink exterior of the chalet and in the future, the addition of a full deck will adorn the lower level.
LeConte Landing holds a very special place in our hearts. It is our first home in the mountains and the humility and detail of the builder as reflected throughout our home, is a constant reminder of how fortunate we are to have had such a
wonderful experience and gained such a unique friend. If you take a moment to look at the detail of the woodwork, you can see he is a true artist.
LeConte Landing lies at the very top of the mountain in Chalet Village and the
views are extraordinary.

Whispering Creek, built in 1988, is an authentic cabin situated in Chalet Village, and named for the wonderful whispering sound of the creek that lies behind.
Whispering Creek was partially renovated in 2005 to capture the warmth and authenticity of the original cabin by updating the interior to a more natural state.
Because cabins are typically a couple's haven, the second bedroom and bath were
removed. The additional space allowed for a much sought after game room and the once fully carpeted floors were replaced with hardwood. Natural pine now covers the original sheet rock bath, and tile replaces the original linoleum kitchen, bath and laundry floors. An overhang was
added for privacy on the back deck and in the near future, a stone path, garden and sitting area will be added in the back so our guests can fully enjoy the creek and the natural beauty of the cabin's surroundings.
This home has a very special meaning to us as we have so enjoyed the many wonderful stories shared by those who have visited.
This authentic cabin has remained a desired retreat for
couples of all ages.
Whispering Creek lies close to the entrance to The Great Smoky National Park and Ober Gatlinburg.

The Green Gables of Erin's Knoll
Failte!
Erin (ĕr'ĭn), ancient and poetic name of Ireland.
Knoll (nōl) n. a small rounded hill or mound; a hillock.
Gable (gā bəl) of Celtic origin;
triangle formed by a sloping roof.
Failte (fault'ya), welcome.
Green Gables, originally named by us and preserved as Erin's Knoll, is our Irish Cottage situated in Chalet Village, and named for its owner who reigns from County Leitrim, Ireland.
Erin's Knoll, an original chalet built in 1970, was partially renovated in 2005 to bring the warmth of the quaint upper level of the chalet to the lower area. Natural pine now covers the stairwell and lower addition, which was originally
painted sheet rock with white doors and trim. The double doors in the lower level were added for privacy, and the upper level, which had been a rather small and carpeted bedroom and bath, is now a game room with hardwood flooring. A beam was added to support this level and the
weight of the pool table. The kitchen and baths have been fully renovated and tile now replaces the original linoleum.
Our home was appointed Green Gables in 2007, to reflect the charm of the green gabled roofs that cover the chalet & gazebo, thus named,
The Green Gables of Erin's Knoll.
Green Gables lies close to the entrance to The Great Smoky National Park and Ober Gatlinburg.
